HISTORY OF KICKBOXING
Shudan Kickboxing started on Thursday January 10th 2002. The club was founded by Jeff Gonslaves, who has been doing various martial arts for ten years now. The idea was to bring all these martial arts together and create his own system. Jeff believes in training with an open mind and that the martial arts have to evolve, that's why the Shudan syllabus is constantly improving. At Shudan we do freestyle kickboxing, semi contact, Thai Boxing, Boxing, Grappling which includes throws, stand up grappling and groundwork. On the self defence side, Jeff is a member of the British Combat Association and we practice defensive tactics, armed and unarmed, multiple opponents and conflict management.
So as you can see at Shudan we have something for everyone, we do sport martial arts, self defence, grappling, or just have fun - there is no pressure on anyone. If you just want to learn martial arts with no politics or no pressure to do gradings or competition, just come along and learn, but have an open mind!
