Club Coaches

Dave Baldwin.

Dave is the senior club coach of Shudan Judo Club. He is a brown belt, instructor of Goshin Jutsu. He is also trained in boxing; kickboxing; conflict management; edged weapons and unarmed combat. He holds certificates in child protection, first aid, and health and safety.

Jeff Gonslaves.

Jeff is a black belt, BJA accredited Judo coach and Goshin Jutsu instructor. He is also the  Shudan Kickboxing coach which he founded in 2002. As well as Judo and Kickboxing, Jeff has also studied Tae Kwoon Do, Ju Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, Eskrima, Boxing, Muay Thai, self protection and various forms of Kung Fu for which he holds a black sash. He also hold certificates in health and safety, child protection and first aid.

(Lightning) Keith Openshaw.

Lightning Keith is one of the newest additions to our club, but has been studying judo for more than twenty years. He has recently come back after a ten year break, and relocated from the north where he had quite a reputation - winning Northern Area titles in Judo, Ju Jitsu, Akido, and Wrestling.
